My best experience was to be here in California.

Within four months I did everything I wanted to do in my whole life. My whole experience here at FLS was just wonderful.

I have been at FLS for 4 months. I have enjoyed the time passed with the other students...

like at the Christmas party or at Marie Calendars with our teacher. I like the way the teachers are always present to answer my questions and the LED day. My host family is very friendly and helps me when I ask. My host mother even cooked a Belgium meal for me.

I was just pleased to be part of the first class which inaugurated Lock Haven campus.

I have learned English at FLS at Oxnard,CA campus and at Lock Haven,PA campus.

Now, after past 11 years I am so pleased to find FLS web site and glad to say that I have spent some of the most great days of my life at FLS by knowing amazing and lovely people.

A curiosity: When I was at Oxnard campus, LA Time newspaper just came to FLS to interview foreign students who decided to learn English in US and (guess what?) my picture was published in the newspapers! :) Up until today I keep such LA Times newspaper with me as a great souvenir.

Today I am always using English language I have learned at FLS and it has became a considerable professional advantage for me at my working area (Telecommunication Engineering).

Thanks FLS! Muito obrigado.

The best thing I could notice in FLS is the interesting style of the professor with the classes.

They are even excited in the classes like the students. I’ve been here for about 2 weeks and so far I am happy to have chosen Citrus College to study English. What I like in FLS too is the ‘staff assistance’, they are always ready to help and always are polite.

I think that FLS Lock Haven is a good place to study...

...it’s quiet, and calm. It’s a nice place, near important cities like NYC, Washington, D.C. and Boston, and it’s a good place to improve your English.

I like Lock Haven!

I think it’s easy to learn English living in a small town. Metropolitan areas have too many distractions. I’m really enjoying my classes. My teachers are excellent.

When asked if she’s improved her English in the two months she’s been here, Natalia said:

"Totally! I’m totally better now than when I came here. I was so scared to speak with people, I was so nervous! Now I talk with many people, and I have international and American friends."

From the beginning FLS taught me how to make right decisions in order to enjoy my stay in the United States.

Thanks to that, I will always remember that arriving to a country where your language is a minority makes you grow up as a person, makes you assume a challenge to keep moving forward and enter a world full of opportunities.

Hungary

We have been studying at FLS Las Vegas for eight months.

We came from Lake Balaton, Hungary. When we first arrived at FLS we didn’t speak one word of English. We started in Level 1 with our teacher Thomas Gaspar, who is now our center director. Matt has been our teacher for Level 3 and now for Level 6. We enjoy using American slang that we learned in our Slang classes. We have made many new friends from different countries. When we finish the Advanced English class we will go to the College of Southern Nevada to continue our education.

I had a very good experience at FLS MiraCosta College.

My teacher was qualified and very cool and I could improve my English.  Host families were very friendly and kind with us, the house was clean and the food was good . . . I enjoyed spending time with the  FLS staff and discovering California, an incredible place with cities like San Diego and Los Angeles and fun places like Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland and Universal Studios.  I'm sure to come back soon!

I have had many good experiences at FLS.

I especially enjoyed communication with the teachers, students, and staff. Whatever you want to practice, you can do that in FLS.

I have been at FLS for 3 months now. Now I almost am adapted to life in America and my new school life.

Level 5A class was good for me because I had to study very much so I could improve English. I am missing the Brazilian students who were very funny and friendly. I liked them. November and December have a lot of holidays, so it went very fast.

I’ve been at FLS for 1 week, and I’m really happy to be here and spend some time in California.

The classes are really exciting, the teacher makes us feel comfortable and we can learn more about American culture. I have a busy schedule and the activities are really good. I had a wonderful time last week in Disneyland, Hollywood, and Sea World. It’s really nice to talk to the other students because we can know other countries.

I love the school at MiraCosta College.

The situation is perfect and we enjoy the perfect environment of the beach which we have a view from the school. I often go to the library because I can work and do my homework. The teachers at FLS are great and I can tell that they really like their jobs, so the atmosphere is so much better to learn English. I already improve my English skills so much since I’ve been here. I am really happy with the different activities that FLS organizes.

Switzerland

I love my host family!

For the first couple of months into my homestay, I was like a daughter in my host family, and they took me everywhere. We went to Mexico several times, they showed me around the local area, and included me in all family activities.
I got to experience a whole second culture. What I especially remember is all of the family birthday parties I went to. It was fun to see how differently they celebrate this event and how unique their traditions are.

I will never forget the time I spent here.

The best way to improve my English is to speak with American people like my teachers, my host family and of course the FLS students. "

Taiwan

The number of students in the class is great, it is not so many.

Because of that, the teacher can pay attention to everyone. My class is in the afternoon, which is good for me. And the teachers are friendly to every student. The school gives students so many chances to go to so many places, like Disneyland, Universal Studios and more.

I have been in FLS Las Vegas for 5 months.

I am a nurse from Taiwan. The teachers are very good and fun. When I first arrived my homestay Mom was very kind. I’m enjoying FLS Las Vegas. After I finish my studies at FLS, my goal is to go to the College of Southern Nevada and study nursing.
