Area Profile

Lock Haven is a small town located in central Pennsylvania surrounded by farms, natural beauty and historic sites.  Outdoor activities vary with the seasons and range from soccer and swimming to skiing and canoeing.  Students will experience the change of seasons and get a taste of traditional American life!  The area includes traditional Amish communities, where a way of life from hundreds of years ago is preserved.  On the weekends, venture out to the scenic state parks or join us for an overnight trip to Washington, D.C.!

Climate

Temperatures range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius in the summer, and it can be humid. In the winter, temperatures range between 5 to 8 degrees Celsius. Lock Haven enjoys four distinct seasons, so expect snow in the winter, with an average of 10 inches of snowfall. Every fall brings a brilliant show of vivid colors with the changing autumn leaves.
