The FLS Intensive Test and College Preparation Program is designed for international students who are rising high school juniors and seniors currently studying in the US.

This program is offered at both Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania and Marymount College in California. Students participate in a combination of classes, workshops and college visits with an advanced, content-based curriculum to prepare them for college success!

By completion of this comprehensive program, students will be able to:

• Write an essay for a college admission application
• Understand and explain key concepts in American higher education
• Take the SAT or TOEFL exam with an improved score
• Prepare and give an oral presentation in English
• Express ideas about topics related to American culture
• Identify several potential college choices appropriate for their educational goals.

All participants in the Intensive Test and College Preparation Program enjoy:

• Core Class: Based on topics related to American life and culture, this class emphasizes listening and speaking and meets for 3.5 hours each weekday.
• Test Preparation Class: Students may choose TOEFL or SAT preparation and meet for 1.5 hours per session.
• College Preparation Workshops: Topics include introduction to American higher education, writing the personal statement, choosing the right college, application clinic, interview techniques.
• Local college visits
• On campus activities
• Guided excursions to area attractions
